When does the finish need to be refinished?
With Knotwood, you never have to paint, stain or oil it, saving you time and money.
What screw do I need?
Because galvanic corrosion happens when dissimilar metals come into contact with each other we perfer using a hardened self tapping aluminum screws these are recommended for costal conditions. If you are not exposed to constant salt air you can also use self tapping galvanized steel screws.
Is there touch up for scratches?

Does the decking get hot?
Yes, in direct sunlight the decking will be warm. Aluminum dissipates heat faster than any other material and tests have shown Knotwood aluminum decking to slightly cooler than traditional wood, composites and ipe.
Does it scratch?
If mistreated anything will scratch but it is the most durable exterior finish avaliable to date.
Is it expensive?
Pricing is comparable to a composite or quality hardwood, with long term savings because of its low maintenance.
How is the wood grain applied?
Woodgrain is applied through a process called sublimation.
